SECRETS OF THE ROYAL MILE

Ed Glinert

A tour guide and author, who has just completed writing The Edinburgh Compendium, gives this illustrated talk.

The Royal Mile is the most exciting street in Britain and a unique route, with a castle at one end and a palace and parliament at the other. In between is nearly a thousand years of history, and what history: riots, murder, insurrection, sieges, battles, invasion, beheadings and some really bad things – but not during the annual Edinburgh Tattoo.
