Modern Methods of Construction and Offsite Fabrication: promoting the quality, innovation and skills needed to tackle the housing challenges facing Hertfordshire

Hertfordshire is facing significant challenges to deliver the 91,000 homes that will be needed in the county by the year 2031.

Modular housing using offsite fabrication techniques – often labelled Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) – is emerging as a genuine alternative to traditional housebuilding, with a factory setting, innovative assembly methods and the use of new materials.

Could these new techniques play a major role in meeting the county’s housing requirements and if so, what needs to happen to make this a reality?

This one day conference at BRE Watford brings together a range of interests to hear more about the products on offer and what Hertfordshire has to achieve in housing delivery to promote the growth and prosperity that it needs.

The aim will be to plan a future course of action, ensuring the promotion of innovation as well as qualitative design solutions, the potential for MMC enterprises to establish a base in the county, and how the local skills needed in this sector can be secured.

LISTEN TO INDUSTRY EXPERTS:
