About the course

The Mind Matters Initiative and Veterinary Practice Management Association (VPMA) have joined forces to design a course to help those in a management role in a veterinary practice or other veterinary workplace to support colleagues with mental health issues.

Many thanks to those practice managers who helped us with research to define and refine exactly the kind of support required.

The course will cover:

  • Basic mental health awareness
  • HR employment regulations and the legal position
  • The role of the line manager in supporting someone with poor mental health
  • Making reasonable adjustments
  • Planning ‘return to work’
  • Designing and putting in place wellbeing action plan

With 25-30 participants, the small group course offers plenty of opportunities for discussion, questions and practical exercises.

Don’t forget, you could count this towards your CPD!

Cost:

The support of both organisations has subsidised the cost of places to ensure that the course is accessible to all.

VPMA members receive additional discounts.

£80 for VPMA members

£120 for others

Participants will receive course materials and a Mind Matters Initiative blank journal.
