Event description

Description

The MML Faculty Open Day will take place on Friday 16 March 2018. Please visit our Open Day webpage for further information; we will upload the programme for the day to that page once it is finalised. The day is aimed at Year 12 and mature students who are considering applying in the next application round.

There are two ticket options for prospective students: either including or excluding a visit to a College for the lunch break. The visit to a College provides the opportunity to see a part of the University away from the Faculty, and includes the opportunity to talk with staff and current students at that College over lunch. These will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and unfortunately we are not able to accomodate preferences in choice of College.

We are able to offer the College visit option to prospective students only. The prospective students will be accompanied between the Sidgwick Site and their allocated College by current students of that College. If you are a teacher bringing a school group, please ensure this is acceptable before registering your students for the College lunch option.

Please note: We are expecting to be very limited on space in the lecture rooms this year, so we will prioritise allowing prospective students into the talks. This will mean that parents and teachers (including those who have registered for parent/teacher/friend tickets) may not be able to sit in on the talks as well. We will judge on the day whether this is necessary, depending on final numbers attending. If this is necessary, parents and teachers will of course still be welcome in open areas, both during the talks and at other times.

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Unfortunately we are not able to offer parking on the Sidgwick site, for either individual or school groups. The Sidgwick Site is served by the Universal bus service, which stops on West Road and also connects to the train station. We recommend visitors either come to Cambridge on the train, or use the Park & Ride facilities, details of which can be found on the Council's website.

If you are a Blue Badge holder, please contact us for details of accessible parking.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, we will not need to see a printed ticket. Names of attendees will be checked off against a list at visitor registration at the start of the day.
