MMN Decarbonisation via Hydrogen: challenges and opportunities
Event Information
About this Event
Hydrogen is a versatile energy vector with the potential to decarbonise parts of the energy sector that other technologies cannot reach. It is ideally suited to fuelling long distance, heavy duty vehicles such as trucks, trains, ships and aircraft and can also be stored for very long periods of time and distributed in the gas network, making it a flexible option for coupling of the electricity, heating and transport sectors.
This MMN workshop will bring together stakeholders from industry, academia and research institutes to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with the transition to hydrogen technologies, with a key focus on the need to establish new manufacturing supply chains. Invited speakers will provide insight into the broad range of rapidly developing activities in this area, including clean hydrogen generation, repurposing of gas networks for domestic and industrial heating applications and the use of hydrogen in fuel cell vehicles.
