Event Details

Please note that this event will start with tea/coffee and a bacon roll and an opportunity to network at 09.00, with the formal part of the meeting starting at 09.30.

The mock employment tribunal session is an exciting opportunity to witness how an employment tribunal is conducted with explanatory commentary provided throughout. Real advocates from Irwin Mitchell represent the parties and witnesses present their evidence before being cross-examined. The case to be decided is one of unfair dismissal and focusses on the very topical alleged misuse of social media in the work place. As part of the training the audience will also have the opportunity ask questions and vote on which party they believe should be successful.

About the Speaker:

Leon Deakin leads the Gatwick employment team and is an experienced employment lawyer with a proven track record of success in complex tribunal claims. He has been recognized by the Chambers Legal Directory as a leading individual and regularly speaks on HR and employment law issues across the south coast. His clients include large national retailers, manufacturers and financial institutions.

Leon also heads Irwin Mitchell’s TMT sector group and enjoys working closely with individuals and businesses in the technology world.

This event is free of charge for CIPD members, although booking is essential. There is a charge of £25 for non-members . (please note that refunds will not be issued less than 10 days prior to this event).
