Mock Employment Tribunal
These are just some of the many questions people ask when facing the prospect of appearing at an Employment Tribunal. Unless you've done it before, it's difficult to imagine what it's like to be cross-examined, to present a case and supply evidence to a judge and panel.
Rollits LLP Solicitors working in association with LDV Training will be running a Mock Employment Tribunal in partnership with the Humber CIPD branch. At this event we will recreate details of a tribunal in a safe and non-critical environment in which delegates are able to raise questions as the event unfolds. Delegates will be able to experience first-hand the drama of an employment tribunal without risk. This Mock Tribunal brings the law to life in an informative and engaging way. Come along and experience live cross examination and legal arguments with employment law experts to understand:
- The Tribunal process
- Choosing witnesses
- Preparing for the hearing
- The role of the judge and panel in determining outcomes
- Judgement and settlements and how to deal with tribunal forms and processes.
Unlike observers at a real tribunal, delegates will be provided with documentation beforehand to familiarise themselves with the case. After the witness evidence is heard and closing submissions are made, a tribunal will determine the result and judgement will be delivered. At this event delegates will have an opportunity to vote on their own view as to the outcome. This session will be of particular interest to HR professionals, managers and others wishing to develop their knowledge of the employment tribunal procedure.
This event is being held at the University of Hull, running from 4.00pm to 7.30pm with a light buffet available on arrival.
