Event description

Description

Background

Following on from a range of JISC Emerging Practice events on the topic of Enterprise Architecture (EA), a range of JISC Course Data projects have self-organised a number of more detailed 'Modelling Bashes'. Two events will take place: one in the North of England and one in the South. This registration form is for the North event taking place at The University of Sheffield.

Learning Outcomes

The aim of this workshop is to provide attendees with:

  • a better understanding of the ArchiMate language
  • the skills required to use Archi (a modelling tool) more effectively
  • the ability to create and develop their own Enterprise Architecture models

Pre-Event Information

The events are free to attend; attendees will be expected to have some prior understanding of Enterprise Architecture. If you haven't but are still interested in attending we recommend you watch this short introduction to Enterprise Architecture: http://emergingpractices.jiscinvolve.org/wp/introducing-ea-webinar/.

Participants will need to bring a laptop along with them, and have pre-installed Archi which is available to download here: http://archi.cetis.ac.uk/download.html.

Please note: this is very much a 'self-help' community event rather than a structured tutorial/presentation. The whole focus is on 'learning by doing together' and so you will be expected to participate in groups. A number of JISC projects with experience in EA will be present to facilitate, trouble shoot and offer guidance where possible.
