Event description

Description

As part of Brompton Design District 2017 'Other Stories, alternative perspectives on design', this talk is in collaboration with Ineke Hans' London Salon series, a series of talks investigating new perspectives on design.

Designer's Perspectives will focus on the perspectives of designers who look into alternative design approaches, who work on projects that explore different models for design and cooperate on social projects.

Panellists:

- Ilse Crawford (founder of Studioilse, designer for Zanat, St. Cuthberts Community)

Ilse Crawford is a designer, academic and creative director with a mission to put human needs and desires at the centre of all that she does. As founder of Studioilse, she designs interiors, furniture and products that support and enhance human behaviour and actions in everyday life and aims to restore the human balance in brands and businesses that have lost their way. Ilse has worked on various projects that have impact on communities such as Friends of Arnold Circus, Zanat and St. Cuthberts Community.

Ineke Hans designs industrial furniture and products, as well as handmade objects for leading manufacturers. She combines traditional and current open source production playing with the interactions between humans, objects and space. In 2016 she started London Salons where she explored 'the future of furniture design and the changing position of the designer'. She aims for a more social and active approach on design and has designed products for the Fogo Island Inn and People of the Sun.
