After much thumb-twiddling and planning, we are finally announcing our first supper club to be held on April 26.
We are a pair of passionate home-cooks, food obsessives and bloggers (see our blog here) who take a keen interest in modernist cuisine. So far we've only hosted dinner parties for friends (and friends of friends!) but we thought it high time to up the ante.
We've chosen the name Modern Comforts: tried, tested, and tasty combinations enhanced with a touch of modernist cooking technique The menu was born from the idea of riffing on rich, comforting classic combinations.
The menu might look deceptively simple but we've got a few tricks up our sleeves.
Modern Comforts Menu
Cocktail on Arrival
Amuse - Chicken liver parfait
Starter - Cod cheeks, batter, peas
Main - Hanger steak, bearnaise
Dessert - Apple, crumble, custard
You are welcome to bring your own booze, and we will gladly pass on recommendations for beers/wines to accompany the courses should you require it. We will provide water, as well as tea and coffee at the end of the meal.
The deposit requested online will secure your place, though we do ask for a suggested contribution of £15 on the evening. As this is our first supper club event, we are unfortunately unable to cater for specific dietary requirements, though we will be planning further events in the future which will aim to cater for a variety of dietary needs.
