Modern Monetary Theory and Full Reserve Banking.
Event Information
Description
This is the first 2019 monthly meeting of a group of people in the North East of England interested in economics. Meetings normally involve about ten people, though if this event is heavily over subscribed, we may try to hire a larger room than normal, and/or re-run the event at a later date. Entrance is free, though those attending are asked to contribute £2 to room hire costs and refreshment costs (tea or coffee).
Our monthly meetings are normally split into two one hour sessions. This meeting involves two quite separate subjects: Modern Monetary Theory and Full Reserve banking. Full Reserve banking is a system where commercial banks are barred from creating money (unlike the existing system, where they are allowed to do that). That is, under Full Reserve, only governments and their central banks create money.
If there are no tickets left when you apply, you can try contacting the organiser (scroll down). I will then come back to you if there are cancellations, or if we hire a larger room, or if we re-run this event at a later date.
