Event description
We're hosting some modern slavery training sessions for professionals who work with children and young people.

About this Event

The UK government estimates that there are tens of thousands of people in slavery in Britain today.

UK nationals make up the biggest group of potential victims. Slavery is happening in North East Lincolnshire – we need your help to tackle it.

To help tackle modern slavery we are providing free training for statutory bodies, businesses and voluntary / charitable organisations in North East Lincolnshire.

These sessions are designed as brief interventions until we are able to provide the taught 2 hour awareness sessions again at Grimsby Town Hall. They will be online ‘webinar’ type sessions and be held on Microsoft Teams.

This training will present a brief overview of modern slavery and human trafficking, the national strategy, signs to spot, the Modern Slavery Act and the national referral mechanism.

There are 3 general sessions and sessions targeted to health professional, those working with young people or children and those within the housing sector.
