Modern Slavery Breakfast Workshop for Businesses

Timings

  • 7:45AM - Breakfast and Networking

  • 8:15AM - 9:30AM - Workshop

This workshop will give an invaluable insight into the issues of modern slavery in the Humber region and aims to support businesses to comply with the 2015 Modern Slavery Act. Modern slavery encompasses slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and domestic servitude and exists in the Humber. Content will include:

  • Safeguarding responsibilities within the Care Act 2014

  • Legislative duties for companies under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act - Transparency in supply chains

  • National & local case studies

  • Local business best practice – Arco

  • Guidance & support for businesses

Workshop facilitators:

Steve Clay – Hull Safeguarding Adults Partnership Board

Dave Blain - Designated Professional for Safeguarding Adults (NHS Hull CCG)

Alicia Kidd – WISE

Mark Kelk – Humberside Police

Parking:

  • Alfred Gelder Street, Hull, HU1 2BP – on street parking

  • SUDS Car Park at the junction of Clarence Street and Great Union Street (entrance on Clarence Street). Once parked, head towards city centre then over Drypool Bridge before turning left into High Street to WISE.

  • Tower Street in front of Premier Inn near the Deep. Once parked, walk over the footbridge and turn right up High Street to WISE.
