Event description
A tour of southern Bloomsbury, focusing on ten individuals or institutions notable for their impressive progress.

About this Event

This walk offers a “Bloomsbury perspective” literally, by covering the south of the district from west to east. It features ten individuals or institutions notable for their impressive progress, which has been socially or culturally beneficial. These span a wide range of activities, from librarianship to nautical navigation, over the period 1577 to 1998. They include a worldwide organisation starting from a merger between two small groups of women, a great poet who grew up in a northern end-of-terrace house and an Italian exile who played a major role in British, and world, culture. Along the route there is a street which is only apparently linked with "lambs to the slaughter".
