Are children welcome

Yes, although this particular MODO Live session is aimed at adults, MODO is VERY keen to see more young people inside galleries. MODO has a partnership with ACE C.I.C, their mission is to champion art education, they will be hosting free events at MODO soon which may be more suitable.

Hockney's Spirit of Innovation at MODO

As the Foundation Louis Vuitton dedicates its entire building to Hockney’s extraordinary career — showcasing works from 1955 to 2025 — we’re proud to bring that same spirit of innovation to MODO with a bold, immersive exhibition here in the UK.

Hockney’s Spirit of Innovation at MODO celebrates the artist’s fearless exploration of media, featuring original works across oil, acrylic, ink, charcoal, iPad, iPhone, and photography — alongside augmented reality and an exclusive video installation, all set across three floors in the heart of Cambridge.

David Hockney is one of the most influential British artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, renowned for his pioneering contributions to contemporary art. A key figure in the Pop Art movement of the 1960s, Hockney has continually redefined artistic practice through his bold experimentation and innovative approach.

Working across painting, drawing, printmaking, stage design, and digital media, Hockney demonstrates an unrelenting curiosity that transcends traditional boundaries. His vivid depictions of Californian landscapes, radical explorations of perspective, and embracing of cutting-edge technologies such as iPad drawings and digital photography reflect his ever-evolving artistic vision. By challenging conventions and reimagining the possibilities of visual expression, Hockney has cemented his place as a revolutionary force in modern and contemporary art.

Hockney’s work is a reminder that creativity thrives when given the freedom and resources to evolve, something MODO strive to support through our programming and partnership with ACE C.I.C.
