Overview

Module 25 - Assessing Learning (Nights Away, Adventurous Activity & Learning Assessors)

Who is this training for?

It is for leaders who want to complete the learning as part of the initial steps towards obtaining an Accreditation to become a:

  • a Nights Away Assessor, or
  • an Activity Assessor, or
  • a Learning Asessessor

The course is part of a programme being run by the County's Volunteering Development team to support Districts to secure additional assessors that will facilitate the award of "assessor accreditations".

There is a limit of 20 places on this course, with each District allocated 2 places for the "Nights Away" assessor status in the first instance.

Please ensure you have both your Group Lead Volunteer's (if appropriate) and District Lead Volunteer's approval before registering for this course – you will be asked to confirm this when undertaking the booking process.

Booking for Adults

Adventurous Activity additional leaning is via a workbook. Copies will be available to take away after the morning's course.

  • Hot drinks will be available
  • If you plan to stay on for the afternoon session you will need to bring your own packed lunch.
  • You do not need to wear uniform or bring your confirmation e-mail / ticket with you.

After the course

Your learning record will be updated by the County's Learning Team to show that you have completed this course.

Validation of Learning

You will advised at the end of the session what needs to be done by you to validate the learning before the appropriate accreditation can be added to your membership record.

A one hour follow up session is being held on Friday 17th April 2026 (19:30-20:30) at County Office to enable learners to come along, discuss and evidence their Module 25 validation material with accredited Learning Assessors. Once validated, the learning assessors will make recommendations to learners' District Lead Volunteers to award the appropriate accreditation within the new digital system (My Membership).
