Learning With Nature runs weekly Tots & Twigs Forest School sessions at Westonbirt Arboretum for pre-school children (from 2 years up to 5 years of age) and their parents/carers.
Each course runs during school term times and will focus on developing children's imagination, creativity and self-esteem whilst exploring the wonderful natural environment of the arboretum.
The Forest School helps encourage young children, and supports their parents/carers in helping them, to get back to nature with a wildlife focus, creating a sense of woodland wonder and developing their outdoor knowledge through nature-based learning sessions.
The cost of the 8-week course will be £72, or £64 if you are a Friend of Westonbirt Arboretum Member, plus Eventbrite fee. FOWA will need to present their FOWA card at the first sessions they attend.
Please no dogs to attend sessions.
All sessions are outside so please ensure you wear appropriate clothing and sensible footwear.
Each ticket for the course includes entrance into the arboretum for one parent/career attending the session with their preschool age child. You are free to explore the Arboretum for the rest of the day at your leisure if you are not already a FOWA.
Autumn Term, Monday 12:30-2pm, 8 sessions:
15th, 22nd, 29th September, 6th, 13th, 20th October 2025.
3th November - Fireworks session
1st December - Christmas session at learning centre
10th November back up date in case of cancelation of a session due to unforseen circumstances.
No Sessions on the half term 27th October 2025.
The safety of visiting children is paramount and we reserve the right to alter forest school sessions to ensure your safety. If this results in us having to cancel a session, we will endeavour to reschedule it and add to the end of the current term. If this is not possible then we will either carry over any outstanding weeks to the next course or provide a refund for the outstanding sessions excluding the Eventbrite fee..
If you are unable to attend a session, we are not able to offer any refund.
- Only one parent/guardian/ adult can attend per booking.
- No children 5 years or over to attend the session.
- Siblings under 24 months can attend free of charge, but if they wish to take part in the craft and activities a place must be booked.
- Siblings rate, so long as on the same booking and only one parent/guardian is attending the session, if you wish to have a second parent/guardian to attend the session a full separate booking must be made.
- NO dogs to attend sessions, or to be left tied up by the site during the sessions.
