Event description

Description

If you are a dedicated, conscientious adventurous activity professional committed to making the right decisions for your client, business or organisation and improving overall client experience then you really want to be on this course…..

This is a workshop for all levels and types of adventurous activity professional and aims to provide a greater understanding of why we are all capable of making mistakes and what we can do about it. The potential outcomes are an increase in both the clarity and robustness of our decision making and judgements along with being more comfortable taking an open and honest approach to dealing with our mistakes and 'failures'.

As instructors, managers, leaders, coaches, guides and trainers, the decisions and judgements we make have far reaching consequences and, more often than not, they are positive life enhancing ones.

But not always…

As someone who runs his own business in the outdoor industry, as well as working for others, I can empathise with the aims, fears and challenges that we encounter daily during our working lives. The trust we have to put in others to deliver to standard and the need to be on top of our own game - every session, every trip, every course, for every client.

Through a carefully structured process consisting of the 7A's: Acquisition, Acceptance, Awareness, Assume, Add, Application and Accountability - we will take a deeper look at the decisions we make, the factors that can influence them and the consequences of the actions that follow.

Although this one day workshop is classroom based, you won't be passively sat looking at a projector screen for eight hours. The subject matter will be explored through a range of tasks, mini workshops, discussions and presentations in order to assist effectiveness, engagement and enjoyment of the process.

Refreshments will be available all day including a light buffet lunch (sandwiches, fruit, snacks). Those with special dietary needs are advised to bring supplementary items. The lunch break with be a working one so we can maximise our time together, so it will be impractical to head out to get lunch hence why we will be providing refreshments. We will also provide notebooks and pens, so all you need to do is turn up!

The day costs just £75 if making a single payment or 2x instalments of £38.50 to help spread the cost.

Contact us directly if you wish to be invoiced for your places.

Group discounts are available for 5 or more attendees from the same organisation.

We are also able to deliver this course 'in house' if you wish to have a large number of your staff benefit from the content and process but would like the convenience of staying at your own venue, please contact us to find out more.

A full Mountain Training Association CPD point is available on attendance (and hopefully Association of Mountaineering Instructors - TBC).
