Event description

Description

As instructors, managers, leaders, coaches, guides and trainers, the decisions and judgements we make can have far reaching benefits or consequences depending on the quality and clarity of those decisions.

As someone who runs his own business in the outdoor industry, as well as working for others, I can empathise with the aims, fears and challenges that we encounter daily during our working lives. The trust we have to put in others to deliver to standard and the need to be on top of our own game - every session, every trip, every course, for every client.

Through a carefully structured process consisting of the 7A's: Acquisition, Acceptance, Awareness, Assume, Add, Application and Accountability - we will take a deeper look at the decisions we make, the factors that can influence them and the consequences of the actions that follow.

This workshop aims to provide a greater understanding of why we are all capable of making mistakes and what we can do about it by looking at the the beliefs and assumptions that govern our decisions which lead to our actions. To put it another way it covers a process that allows us to make better decisions and respond more pro actively and appropriately when we make poor ones.

The potential outcomes from this workshop are an increase in both the clarity and robustness of our decision making and judgements along with being more comfortable taking an open and honest approach to dealing with our mistakes and 'failures'. We'll look at factors that can influence our decison making, cover ways in which we can begin to question our negative thoughts and beliefs and discuss strategies and techniques that can be used by you or your staff to enhace decision making skills.

Better decisons and a proactive way of dealing with mistakes will ulitmately improve client experience, foster better working environments and strenghten safety standards/service delivery.

Although this one day workshop is classroom based, you won't be passively sat looking at a projector screen for eight hours. The subject matter will be explored through a range of tasks, mini workshops, discussions and presentations in order to assist effectiveness, engagement and enjoyment of the process.

The venue has a great mini coffee bar and the price includes unlimited hot drinks throughout the day and the coffee is gooood! You'll need to buy your own lunch however but the venue serves very good food and a sample menu can be seen here:

We will provide notebooks and pens, so all you need to do is turn up!

I've reduced the cost of the day to just £49.50 from the usual £75

Contact me directly if you wish to be invoiced for your place.

We are also able to deliver this course 'in house' if you wish to have a large number of your staff benefit from the content and process but would like the convenience of staying at your own venue, please contact us to find out more.
