We invite you to join a thought-provoking workshop examining the cultural, historical, and political dimensions of monogamy. Colonial powers reshaped cultural norms around intimacy, positioning monogamy as the default model while erasing or criminalising more fluid, communal, or non-traditional forms of love.
Participants will interrogate how patriarchal and heteronormative systems have shaped romantic norms, from rigid gender roles to the prioritisation of nuclear family structures, and how these scripts persist in contemporary dating practices.
Questioning monogamy is not a rejection of love but an expansion of it. Together we will consider alternative approaches to intimacy, decolonial love, and conscious relationship design.
