Monsieur Mu is a character inspired largely by Marcel Marceau. The word Mu in French means ‘driven’; in Zen Buddhism means ‘nothingness’ or ‘emptiness’, a transcending of the dualities of life.
Mark trained in mime at ‘Sélavy’, France, ran by English author/practitioner John Rudlin and at Theatre de l’Ange Fou International School of Coporeal Mime, founded by Corinne Soum and Steve Wasson the last assistants of Étienne Decroux.
Mime goes beyond spoken language and Mark adopted it, as a means of expressing his art so it can be understood anywhere in the world appealing to different ages and backgrounds. Mr Duncan has brought this art form to major arts festivals in four continents. He is also an actor, teacher, musician and artistic director of Cornucopia Theatre Company more info at www.cornucopiatheatre.co.uk
