Lift shares can be organised in our Whatsapp community chat. Please drop us a message and we'll send the link to join. This car park is often very busy so please car share where possible to cars to a minimum.
Please make sure you sign up as spaces are limited. If you can no longer make the walk and have signed up please do cancel your spot so that somebody else can take it as we often have a waitlist.
We now have donation tickets available with all donations going directly to our Community Fund. You can read more about it here.
This is a social walk not guided so everyone is responsible for themselves, the route is on our Komoot profile so take time to familiarise yourself with it before we head out.
This walk is for women and NB folk who feel comfortable in a space that centres women.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, please bring enough water for the day as well as snacks and lunch as we will be having a lunch stop.
Your walk organiser and Bird champions will be more than happy to help you locate a wild wee spot along the route if needs be! We also find the Toilet Map website really helpful if you do need to locate a wc close to the start/ on your way _ https://www.toiletmap.org.uk/
Comfortable walking boots. Comfortable clothes. Waterproofs. An extra layer for when we stop for lunch. Hat and gloves. A cap/ sunhat & suncream (weather depending). A backpack big enough to carry all of the above. This list is not exhaustive but a suggestion of what would be useful.
If you don't have something listed above that will be a barrier to your attendance please drop us an email as we have some items for community use so we may be able to lend it to you for the walk.
This isn't a guided walk, it is a social walk. There will be walk organisers from Bird but you are responsible for yourself. Please make sure you familiarise yourself with the route before attending. We will walk together as a group and nobody will be left behind.
This is a social walk of usually approx 15-20people. We will be moving at the pace that is sociable with stops to accomodate everyone as well as a lunch stop. As a very lose rule we will travel approx 3km an hour but if you need further info to be able to attend please drop us an email.
All donations go fully in to our Community Fund. Your contribution is completely optional — events will always remain free and accessible to everyone. Here’s what your donation helps make possible; training and upskilling for community volunteers, guided events, funded event places.
