Event description

Description

We will generate story ideas, explore characters and story worlds, sharpen dialogue and look at elements of story structure. You will learn through a range of writing exercises and prompts, writing together, sharing what you write (if you want to) and listening to each other. There will be no feedback on what you choose to share.

Beginners are welcome.

Whether you want to write stories in fiction, creative non-fiction, journals or blog posts, this workshop will help you discover and trust your own unique voice.

This workshop is suitable for you if you:
- have ideas for stories but don't know where to start
- write at home but could do with learning some writing techniques
- would like some encouragement and motivation to write
- would like to meet other people interested in writing
- are new to writing
- have written lots but would like to generate more ideas and material
- are struggling to carve out time to write at home (always good to get writing time in the diary).

This workshop probably isn't for you if you:
- want feedback on your writing
- you have strong ideas on the right way to write.

You will need to bring:
- a notepad and pen
- a willingness to try new things.

The workshop takes place in a cosy room with sofas and armchairs upstairs in East Grinstead bookshop. There is a cafe downstairs, where you can order tea and coffee to be brought up to the room, to drink while you write.

Price: £20 per workshop with discounts for block booking.
