No. Dogs are not permitted on the grounds of the Education Centre, for the safety of young people using the site and our resident wildlife.

Whittling is the act of carving wood with a knife. It is a heritage skill used for crafting art, building furniture and even survival.

Can I bring my child?

This workshop is intended only for attendance by people aged 18years and over. We do have other regular clubs for young people that do involve whittling. Information for those can be found on our website.

Join Sam Reast, Education Officer, and experience a beginner's guide to whittling wood with a knife to create artistic and utility items.

Want to learn how to use a knife to carve wood into things? Then join Education Officer Sam Reast at Whisby Education Centre to learn some basic knife techniques and safety skills in order to start carving things, from utility objects like tent pegs to ornamental mushrooms.

Suitable for: Adults only, Beginners.

Weather: Where a workshop is dependent on the weather, we may have to make changes or, on rare occasions due to extreme weather, cancel to ensure the safety of all.

Car Parking: Please park and pay in the main Whisby Nature Park car park.
