Overview

A beginners course in the traditional craft of hedgelaying. Learn this conservation technique and how to use the tools safely.

Learn the traditional heritage skill and conservation technique of hedge laying. After an introduction inside, the majority of the day will be spent outside using hand tools to practice techniques and learn how to use stakes and bindings to create a laid hedge barrier. Once learned, you can use this technique in your own green spaces to create wonderful, wildlife friendly barriers and borders.

When: Sat 24th Jan 2026, 10pm-3pm.

Where: Whisby Education Centre, What3Words ///remotest.bins.unscathed

Suitable for: Adults, Beginners

Parking: Please park and pay in the main Whisby Nature Park car park.

Weather: Where an event/workshop is dependent on the weather we may have to make changes or, on rare occasions due to extreme weather, cancel to ensure the safety of all.
