About this event
An annual memorial lecture competition which celebrates the work of Professor Monty Losowsky, a former Dean of Medicine at the University of Leeds.
Professor Losowsky, who died in 2020, played a crucial role in establishing both Europe’s largest teaching hospital and the UK’s leading independent medical museum. To celebrate Monty’s immense contribution to medical education and medical history, Leeds University School of Medicine and the Thackray Museum are hosting an annual event a prize lecture this year held virtually on Thursday 14 October, 5pm 7pm and sponsored by OneMedical Group.
We are delighted to include a keynote presentation by Professor Roger Kneebone, Imperial College. Professor Kneebone is a surgeon, educator and performer and shall talk about his latest book “Expert: Understanding the path to mastery” and podcasts “Countercurrents”, where he reveals how people perfect their skills.
The competition shall feature lectures delivered from three shortlisted entries - students enrolled in the School of Medicine.
