Description

Mood, food and wellbeing: practical interventions for healthy living workshop



Come and learn new ways of improving physical health and wellbeing. We will offer you practical tools to help service users with serious mental illness improve their physical health and become healthier.

This day will offer Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust clinical staff an enjoyable exploration of developing confidence in discussing physical health matters such as:

  • Food and nutrition as ways of improving wellbeing

  • The links between thought processes and food

  • Transforming relationships with food

  • Understanding the brain- body link and its effect upon metabolism

  • Ways to motivate and encourage healthier lifestyles


There will be a shared healthy lunch provided as part of the workshop.


This workshop will be faciliated by:

Sue Bradley

(M.A, PG Dip, PGCE)

I am a food educator and eating psychology coach. “I really enjoy helping people lead happier lives through mind - body nutrition. I recently won ‘Come Dine with Me’ using these skills. I also am a trained Yoga teacher, specialising in helping people discover and maintain flexibility of body and mind". I have over 25 years of teaching and training experience. Lesley Woolf

(RMN, MA, PGCHSCE)

I have over 25 year’s frontline nursing experience in diverse community mental health settings. I am an accredited Assist trainer and Open University tutor as well as providing mental health training to business and voluntary groups. I have previously volunteered as a sexual health advisor (and cricket coach) in Rwanda and Uganda with ‘Cricket without Boundaries’. My frontline experience has shown me that helping clients’ optimise their physical health is a vital part of any mental health work.
