PPG have been running events in Sheffield for almost two years now and in that time have established themselves as a genuine powerhouse in the underground house, techno, disco and bass music scenes. At the heart of their success lies a family of extremely talented resident DJs, each with their own individual style and unique musical flavour, two of which will be gracing your ears tonight!
Having hung up his boots as promoter for Disco-House night Lunar, firm moonrise favourite Leroy is now focused on filling dancefloors wherever he plays with his eclectic taste for rare-groove and left-field classics. As part of the NLR - Nice Like Rice DJ collective, Team Rice, Leroy has played everywhere from The Tuesday Club to Why Not Festival, as well as at their frequent clubnights at the Harley, Theatre Delicatessen on the Moor and Hope Works.
Atonal co-founder and resident Coxie, hailing from Manchester, has already supported the likes of Dusky and dnb kingpin Jubei. Her influences range from across the dance music spectrum, from the likes of Ivy Lab to Midland and Eclair Fifi. Expect a set full of surprises and musical diversity.
Irise International (http://www.irise.org.uk/) are a UK registered charity working to support the education and empowerment of marginalised women and girls in East Africa and disadvantaged young people in the UK.
Puberty and menstruation have been identified by disadvantaged women and girls as a drivers of gender inequality through an insidious impact on their ability to engage in education and make good decisions about their reproductive health. Irise aim to be a driver of change through starting conversations that challenge traditional gender roles, and enabling women to achieve more. They aim for a world where no girl is held back by her period and a society that enables all girls to reach their full potential.
Friends of Irise are a student affiliate group supporting Irise International. We campaign, raise awareness and educate young people about issues facing women and girls worldwide, focusing on empowerment and access to education. (JOIN US !! email@example.com)
