Description
The Italian painter Morandi was a master of composition and understated elegance, during his 40 year career he painted the same objects over and over to get a complete understanding of them. We will only be spending a day with a still life of simple objects and a muted colour palette but everyone of any ability will come away with a painting they will love.
Morning Session - shape and composition using collage
Afternoon Session - painting a canvas
Bring some interesting paper (muted colours) acrylic paints, brushes and a canvas or board. Bring a packed lunch.

Allanbank Arts is a small, exciting arts venue near Allanton in the Scottish Borders. We run a range of events and activities throughout the year. We are predominately a fine arts venue, and are delighted to have Gill Walton as our Artist in residence. Other tutors include Printmaker Justine Miller and Artist Claire Beattie. Our programme of events includes life drawing, painting, printmaking and regular classes for children. We also run regular yoga and meditation sessions, mindfulness workshops and a book group.
You will find Allanbank Arts in the Eastern side of the Scottish Borders located in the beautiful 18th century coach house which once belonged to the Blackadder Estate, it is set in three acres of tranquil gardens and there are three holiday cottages on site if you require accomodation.
