Description

Moray Business Women Awards Ball 2017

And Annual CHARITY Night

Join us as we celebrate the 11th year of Moray Business Women at our Annual Awards Ball. And once again all net proceeds from the event will go towards our charity which, this year, is Moray Foodbank.

Moray Business Women Annual Awards serve to showcase and celebrate the achievements of women in business across Moray in all sectors, whether running your own business or employed in business. Awards such as these highlight the ever increasing contribution of women to the economic success of Moray and inspire and motivate other women.

The evening begins with a drinks reception – so grab a glass of fizz and catch up with friends.

OUR HOST

We are delighted to welcome our host, auctioneer and MOC for the evening, local farmer and butcher Jock Gibson. A well kent face around Forres and Moray, Jock is no stranger to running his own business and in fact Macbeth’s Butchers and Game Dealer has been owned by his family for 30 years. He became an internet sensation after a video of him hunting those ever elusive haggis went viral. Jock is not afraid to put himself on the line for his business and even entered a Sexiest Butcher contest to gain more publicity!

But he understands the trials and tribulations that go hand in hand with running a family business, not only juggling the farm, shop and online business but he and his wife Fiona also have their hands full managing three children, the youngest being just five months old.

Jock is a board member for Quality Meat Scotland, Co-chair of the Forres Business Association and sits on the steering committee for the Highlands and Islands Food & Drink Awards.

AWARDS CEREMONY

We will then be seated for the President’s address as we look back on 2017 before meeting all of our finalists and “crowning” the winners in the following award categories:

  • Moray Business Woman of the Year
  • Most Enterprising Business of the Year
  • Team of the Year
  • Member of Achievement

LIVE CHARITY AUCTION

After supper we hear from our well-deserving charity Moray Foodbank before we head into a fun warm up and the live charity auction.

We will have some fantastic auction and raffle prizes up for grabs – more of those will be revealed as we get closer to the Ball so keep an eye on our Facebook event page.

AUCTION TERMS:

Bidding is fun, but please remember that each bid you make is a binding contract to buy the item if you win. You will not be required to pay for your auction lot on the night. All successful bidders will be invoiced. Payment is required to be completed within 14 days. No "lot" will be released until payment has been cleared. MBW reserve the right to sell on auction lots which remain unpaid after the payment date has expired. This ensures we are able to assign the full proceeds from the event to our charity, Moray Foodbank, within our accounting period.

Auction lots are generously donated for the benefit of the charity and some will contain expiry dates. Timely payment allows MBW to release the 'lot' as soon as possible after the event, so that the winning bidder can take advantage in the relevant timescale. Moray Business Women are not responsible for a lot which expires and is no longer useable owing to late payment. Payment is still due.

PARTY!

And finally, as the formalities draw to a close, we will round off the evening with Footerin’ Aboot. A local and popular Moray band performing a wide variety of original songs, vibrant compositions, traditional tunes, well known covers and ceilidh dances. These lads are currently taking the stage by storm at festivals all over Scotland – more locally you may have seen them perform at Speyfest, Belladrum and the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. We are thrilled they have space to fit us in and get you on that dance floor this evening!

It’s sure to be a great night and we look forward to seeing you there.

TICKETS:

Tickets are £50 each (plus booking fee) including a welcome glass of fizz. Just a wee reminder this is not a “closed” event. Members and non members, colleagues, partners and guests, ladies and gents are all invited and will be made very welcome. It is always a great night, a chance to let your hair down, and celebrate approaching the end of another great year. And what’s more, we hope to make an extra “bob or two” for Moray Foodbank too!

INVOICES: If you are booking on behalf of a company/business and require an invoice then please contact events@mbwc.org.uk. We will require your guest list, any dietary requirements and your wine pre-order and payment cleared by 6th November 2017 so please ensure you request an invoice in good time.

WINE PRE-ORDERS

Your ticket includes a complimentary welcome drink. The bar will then be open throughout the night except during the welcome address, awards ceremony, charity speech and auction.

Why not pre-order some wine or prosecco for your table? If your order includes a PAID ticket you will have the opportunity to order your wine at the same time as your ticket (this would help us enormously). The hotel has requested guests do not contact them directly for wine orders.

In the event your wine becomes discontinued by 18th November, the hotel may substitute a wine of similar description and price.

SPONSORS, AUCTIONS AND RAFFLES

We are currently seeking sponsors for our Awards and the celebratory Ball. Packages start from as little as £250. We also welcome raffle prizes and auction lots with all proceeds from the event going to our overall end of year fundraising total for Moray Foodbank. If you would like any further information on how to support our charity through any of these methods then please contact a member of the committee.
