Moray Speyside Tourism 2019 Annual Conference

Proudly Sponsored by Harper Macleod, incorporating Wink & Mackenzie

Join tourism businesses and stakeholders from Moray Speyside and beyond at the 2019 Moray Speyside Tourism Annual Conference. A keystone event and the largest tourism event in the region, the Moray Speyside Tourism conference is an opportunity to celebrate yet another year of success for Moray's tourism industry.

Delegates will hear from some of the industry’s best and brightest speakers and have the opportunity to network with industry colleagues. This year’s event, held at Elgin Town Hall on the 8th November will be the largest ever conference and will include a special ‘expo’ section showcasing support and services for the tourism industry, in addition to great speakers and compelling content.

Visit Scotland Chairman, Lord John Thurso

2019 is a golden year for VisitScotland, as the national tourism organisation turned 50 in July.

Since the Scottish Tourist Board was established in 1969, tourism has gone from a value of an estimated £100 million (£1.6 billion in today’s money) to now being worth £11 billion to the Scottish economy.
VisitScotland Chairman Lord John Thurso will reflect on the past 50 years and consider the future of Scottish tourism, as well as the opportunities and challenges for regions like Moray Speyside.

Keynote Speaker - "Anti-Social Media"

Gary Ennis, Managing Director of NSDesign Ltd

Social Media is a hot topic right now, with businesses scrambling to get to grips with the likes of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. But it isn’t always fun selfies and cat videos. For businesses who trip up on social, the results can be dramatic, with consequences impacting you, your staff, your brand reputation and more.

This fast and furious seminar aims to highlight where social media can go wrong in business, showing real world examples, the devastating outcomes, and discussing ways to mitigate the risks of it happening to you. From defamation and getting sued on Twitter, to Trip Advisor nightmares from angry customers. From inappropriate images on Facebook, to password hacks and data theft. This is a workshop you will not want to miss – your reputation depends on it!

Gary Ennis is a qualified trainer, with over 20 years experience in the field of Digital Marketing. He is the founder of NSDesign - an award winning digital training consultancy, working with organisations across Scotland to improve their digital skills and capabilities.

PLUS ... Phil Prentice of Scotland's Improvement Districts, Willie Cameron - Mister Loch Ness
... updates from The Scottish Tourism Alliance, The North East 250 - Breakout Sessions from industry experts and a 'mini' tourism expo with 30 exhibitors.

This conference offers Moray’s tourism businesses and stakeholders the opportunity to get together, share insights and hear about new developments – all aimed at equipping our tourism businesses with the tools and techniques they need to be ready for the future and the ever-changing tourism landscape.

We hope to see you on the 8th of November
