More Culture, Less Medicine Day 3: THE BIG VISION

About this Event
Originally planned as a one-day conference event to take place in April 2020, this event is now taking the form of a series of bite-sized morning sessions, 10am-midday every day, via zoom on the 23rd/24th/25th/26th November.
The sessions are FREE to book and aim to bring together a wide spectrum of people from Arts, Health and Social Care together to look at some of the key developments within the sector and to explore the potential of establishing Brighton and Hove as a centre of excellence for Arts, Health & Wellbeing.
Each event will include cross sector speakers and presentations, showcasing of diverse and high quality practice and open discussion.
The theme for Day 3, Wednesday 25th is The Big Vision – creating a shared vision for Brighton and Hove.
Four of Brighton & Hove’s leading arts and health organisations; The Robin Hood Health Foundation, The Old Market Creative Future, and Diversity & Ability (D&A) have come together to form The HERA Partnership.
Over the next 3 years, the partnership will be developing & delivering an innovative and varied programme of inclusive arts & health focussed activities for people living with complex or long-term health challenges. This will include creative workshops, training, access support for low confidence, and public events to showcase the creativity and diversity of Brighton & Hove. #HeraForYou
The programme for the day is led by The HERA Partnership, as follows:
The project leads from each of the organisations will be presenting the work of the Hera Partnership and highlighting some of the specific work their organisations are delivering.
We will also look at how the work aligns with the aims of Brighton & Hove City Council’s Arts Health & Wellbeing Group.

The Hera Network
As part of the presentation, we will also be discussing the setting up of a Network for Independent Arts & Health Practitioners. We will consulting all attendees and requesting responses to a live poll to help us in shaping the Network for everyone’s benefit.
We will also hear from a range of artists delivering programmes of work as part of the Hera Partnership:
Dan Blomfield - Dan will be telling us about his work as a Wellbeing Advisor, Link Worker, Community Connector and Photography Facilitator at Robin Hood Health Foundation.
Thomas Buckley – Thomas is an artist & storyteller using digital media. Thomas will be telling us about his project LightFormLab that he produced working with #TOMTECH at the Old Market
Udita Everett - Singing for Better Health. Udita is a trained music therapist, First Nature voice/breath/body coach & Singing for Lung Health Leader. Udita will lead a participatory Singing for Better Health session for all participants
