About this event
Understanding and working with complex mental health issues as a Christian therapist. We will be discussing working with conditions, such as C-PTSD, DID, and Body Image disorders, from an integrated clinical and biblical perspective. We are all physical, emotional and spiritual beings and we need to break down the barriers in how we see mental health as opposed to physical health. Likewise, we can integrate healing and spirituality alongside treatment. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) allows us to see how a clinical tool targets both emotional and physical symptoms, but the Christian patient will also experience spiritual healing with EMDR as the Holy Spirit is involved as part of who they are.
The workshop includes practical demonstrations of how we use EMDR with faith, as well as opportunities to experience Compassion-focused Therapy exercises, and bibliodrama.
'He also healed people of their diseases and of the bad effects of their bad lives. Word got around the entire Roman province of Syria. People brought anybody with an ailment, whether mental, emotional, or physical. Jesus healed them, one and all.' Matthew 4:23b–24 (MSG)
