Event description
This a talk by Jane Barns via Zoom for U3A members.

About this Event

This is a free event for U3A members only.

There will only be spaces for 90 devices available, but of course more than one U3A member can view a device at the same time.

ZOOM

The procedure for using Zoom is slightly different for a tablet and a pc but the instructions on screen are quite clear.

Members who want to join the Zoom group to hear Jane speak but are not Zoom users currently will need to adopt one of two options:

Option 1. Prior to the meeting, download a free version of Zoom from zoom.us and create a free account.

Option 2. Use the link that will be sent to you and follow the instructions. A small app will be downloaded but not the full Zoom programme. This will need to be carried out just before the meeting so please allow time to complete the process.

Option 1 is the better option as this can be done at any time.

GETTING A TICKET

The number of places is limited and U3A members must have a ticket for their device to be allowed into the meeting.

The day before the meeting you will be sent an email containing the link to join the meeting.

For ease of access to Zoom, you should receive the email on the device for watching Zoom.

The information sent to you to join the meeting must only be used on one device. If you share the information, then you run the risk of that person joining the meeting instead of you.

Click the link in the email to enter the meeting and follow the instructions. Make sure your full name is shown on the screen.

So that everyone can join in time for the meeting, you will be able to log on from 10.10 am.

Please remember if your name is not on the list, you will not be admitted to the meeting.

Your sound will be automatically muted and will remain so throughout the meeting.

MEETING

The meeting will be opened by our Chairman, Ian Byrnes and he will introduce our speaker.
