About this event

Travel & Outdoor • Other

Join Big White Shed poet, Anne Holloway, on a Word Walk as part of Morecambe Poetry Festival. What’s a word walk? A chance to take in the sights and sounds of the outdoors, and write, or doodle as you go.

We’ll meet under Morecambe Sailing Club Race Office (pictured above), and we will provide paper, pens, and prompts if you need them.

The walk is more of a stroll really! The route is on the flat, and we'll be taking our time to take in the surroundings - along the prom, through Morecambe Cemetery, on through Poulton and back to the prom. We'll meet up at 10am and have a chat before setting off. We will end at the iron landscape within about 90 minutes.

This is a laid back event, no previous writing experience needed, just come along for the walk and have a go at writing.

If you fancy sharing what you've written, you could jump on the open mic at Morecambe Library. We also invite you to share your writing in the poetry festival zine which will be produced over the weekend.
