About this event

Welcome to watercolours at waterstones! Every week we're here in the cafe painting all sorts of different things & always learning something new.

What we'll be doing:

In this class I will show you a step by step process of how to paint different themes each week. Each theme will come with learning different techniques, so every class is always a bit different.

Who's it for:

These classes are most suitable for beginners, but if you already have knowledge of painting you never know what new thing you might learn!

What's the vibe:

These classes are very low pressure so if you're someone who's a bit anxious about starting art again, or trying it for the first time, this genuinely is a really good place to start. Many people who come to the class haven't painted since school but end up really enjoying the experience (even if it goes a bit wonky!). Whether you want to just come to one session, or many! You're welcome to to do whatever fits with your schedule / life :-)

Each week we will have a new theme:

These classes are suited to a range of levels, we will be painting from imagination and learning techniques on how to 'doodle with watercolours' and will be in more of an illustrative style. This can be great for those with an interest in illustration who might want to explore their style further in watercolour.

What's included:

All materials are supplied 🖌️ 🎨

YOUR TUTOR

Hi I'm Zara who's behind Ginger Green. I started teaching watercolours in March 2023 which is exciting because its been more than a year now! Multiple times week I run beginner watercolour classes where each session we have a different theme, generally to do with nature. This year I'm looking forward to running day courses, or some courses that span over a few weeks where we can get really stuck in to a particular subject.

My background is in illustration which I studied in Bristol from 2016 - 2019. I have previously worked in a bit of editorial illustration under the name 'Zara Wilkins'.

The thing I love most about watercolours is that it is so versatile. There are so many different ways it can be used, so many effects that you can create with different levels of water, pigment, paper weights and brushes. There doesn't really seem to be an end to what you can do with it. Teaching continues to be such a fun experience and I really look forward to every class I run.

Refunds

Unfortunately eventbrite takes a cut of the ticket event if the ticket is refunded. Which means I would be losing money. So I'm unable to offer a full refund. So there is a choice between these things: 1) I can transfer your ticket to a different week of your choice 2) I can refund you but i
