Join us for Morning Calm with Pierre Catherine-Buffet, pianist from the Royal College of Music, who will be playing works by Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Stephen Sondheim, Michel Legrand and Johnny Green.

Morning Calm is a short piano recital beginning at 8:40, consisting of around 10-12 minutes of music followed by a few minutes' silence for reflection and meditation before ending with brief prayers for the day ahead. You are most welcome to stay for the whole recital or if you would prefer not to stay for the Christian conclusion to leave just before the end. Morning Calm aims to offer a reflective and calm start to the day for people of any faith or none in the hustle and bustle of the West End of London.

As always admission is free.

Pierre Catherine-Buffet is an award-winning French composer, arranger and pianist based in London and recently graduated from the Royal College of Music with the Michael Champion scholarship. Since 2021, he has multiplied major projects such as composing and directing orchestral cine-concerts; winning the OST Challenge prize; winning the RCM large ensemble composition competition with the piece “Migratory Dove”; directing short and medium-length films “Machinations”, “The Charity Robery”, “Radiomania”; releasing studio albums “Wild Walk”, “PCB experiment”, “Hourglass Café” featuring contemporary artists Amo, Lucas Paramour, Madee, Luke Hasler, Adessoa, Yaor Jacob; joining Pop-Rock bands Overlord and Outlaw George; collaborating with London artist-dancer Gail Seres-Woolfson; conducting and producing recording sessions at RCM Studios, Abbey Rd Studios, Angel Studios.

Recent film scores include Jack Burgess’ “Me Time”, Gus Barry’s Hoard, Ben Senior’s “We Stellar Remnants”, Arturs Voblikovs’ “Film Film”. He is trusted for his work by conductors Leif Tse, Dr. Dimitri Scarlato, Liberata Collective, pianist Julien Cohen, Orchestre Ecus’Son, Orchestre National d’Auvergne.
