We at Tongues on Fire/UK Asian Film Festival would like to invite you to a "Morning Chai and In Conversation with VFX artist Laraib Atta". This event is free and includes a talk by Laraib Atta followed by a Q&A. A light breakfast with tea and coffee will also be served.

If you are a current student of VFX, interested in VFX or simply love VFX and want to know more from an industry professional, this is a wonderful opportunity. Join us at Dishoom Carnaby on Tuesday, 2nd April at 9:30 for this unmissable event.

Laraib Atta

Laraib Atta is a VFX artist based in London. She began her career at the age of 19 back in 2006 and received the title of the youngest Pakistani and only woman from the country to be working at such a professional level. Some of her first projects she worked on includes Sweeney Todd, Chronicles of Narnia and 10.000 BC. She also worked for Disney commercials and album promos for George Michael and Rolling Stone, all at such a young age. She has been part of one of the best VFX companies including MPC, Framestore, The Mill, Aardman Animation, BBC, Sky TV and now Dneg. Her recent project Netflix's Altered Carbon was nominated for an Emmy and she herself was nominated for Visual Effects Society award for some of her outstanding work on the show. She was part of the new Mission Impossible Fallout which grabbed headlines across her country, Pakistan. She was previously invited to speak at TEDx and spoken at several other major conferences in Pakistan, Canada and USA for motivating young generation, empowering women and representing minorities in the creative industries. She has also been involved in mentoring and introducing students/aspiring artists to VFX in London through Access VFX and other sources. She has also worked on short film as a producer and just joined a podcast to represent minorities and people of colour in digital arts.
