During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to create multiple mosaic projects, limited only by your imagination. Caroline provides all the materials and tools you need to craft your masterpieces. The cost of materials, including tiles, the base form, mirrors, and grout, may vary based on the project you choose. Whether you dream of designing a mosaic mirror frame, a small coffee table, a decorative planter, a custom hotplate, a house number plaque, or a beautiful wall art piece – the choice is yours!

2. Customised Projects:
You won't be limited to a one-size-fits-all approach. Every student can select their projects each day, ensuring a tailored and diverse mosaic-making experience. Feel free to explore different techniques and styles as you work on your chosen pieces.

3. Hands-On Learning:
Your expert tutor, Caroline, will guide you through each step of the mosaic-making process. rom selecting materials to the final grouting, you'll gain valuable insights and skills to create stunning mosaic art.

4. Flexible Pace:
Depending on your progress and comfort level, you may even have the opportunity to complete multiple projects within the three-day course. One larger project and one or two smaller ones, including the grouting of at least one item, can be accomplished. If necessary, you can take your second or third piece home for grouting once it's perfectly dry.

Course Costs:
To kickstart your mosaic journey, there's an additional cost of £40 to £85, which will be paid directly to Caroline at the beginning of the course. The exact cost will depend on the project you select, ensuring a personalised experience that suits your budget and preferences.

This amazing craft retreat will begin on Monday 15th July 2024 when you will arrive at the venue, meet your tutor and be guided to your accommodation.

For three whole days you will be immersed into your chosen craft under the guidance of your tutor. Course tutors have been specifically selected, not only for their skill level in their craft but also, for their teaching abilities and supportive guidance.

Costs are inclusive of four nights' accommodation, freshly cooked food, expert tutoring, and use of tools.

Each day will consist of two 2.5hr teaching sessions with breaks in between for tea/coffee and lunch.

In the evenings there are 'taster sessions' with other tutors that you can book on to (additional costs may apply). These sessions allow you to sample a craft you may have never tried before.

There is also a bar on site serving hot drinks, soft drinks, and of course alcohol (for those that like to relax with a tipple or two). This is usually where you'll also find the tutors relaxing!

Please note: Tutors will provide specialist tools but there may be an additional charge for materials (approximately £45-£85). You will receive a tools and supply list for your chosen course before the retreat.

On-site accommodation is small dormitory-style bedrooms. Bed linen is provided. Bathrooms and toilets are shared among small groups of rooms along with common rooms and kitchen/snack rooms. You will need to bring your own towels and toiletries.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided in an informal communal setting with a cafeteria-style service. Allergies and dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice (a dietary request form will be sent to you).

Also on site is a leisure facility including a 25m swimming pool and a fitness suite. Access to this is at an additional cost so be sure to add this as a ticket option if it interests you.

Kingham Hill School is located near the village of Kingham in Oxfordshire and was founded in 1886. The School's 100 acres of grounds include parkland, 30 acres of woodland, and 8 acres of pasture housing the school's horses, sheep, alpacas, pine martens, and goats. The School has invested in new facilities including a £4m Maths and Science building built in 2015, a new library completed in 2016 and a new £6M Sports Centre opened in January 2020.
