About this event

Turn broken crockery into beautiful, unique artwork.

Venue: Derbyshire Eco Centre

Approximate course length: 1 day

This course is for:

Beginners and those with some experience of mosaic making. The course will provide an opportunity to learn and develop your mosaic skills and techniques in a friendly, sociable environment.

The course will cover:

This course will cover: the fundamentals of mosaic making, using new skills and imaginative ideas; how to create simple designs as templates; and how to turn broken crockery into beautiful, unique artwork.

No prior experience is necessary.

This is a classroom based course which will provide an opportunity to develop your mosaic making skills in a friendly, sociable environment.

You will be given the support you require for your individual development. There are no exams or formal assessments.

There will be chance to ask questions and put what you have learned into practice. Your tutor will give you feedback during the course and you will be able to self-assess.

Work outside of sessions:

This is not required, though we hope you will want to put what you have learned into practice.

Additional costs and what to prepare:

The course tuition is offered free of charge but there will be a small charge for materials of £5. A member of staff will be in touch about payment shortly before the course start date.

You may wish to wear an apron.

Feel free to bring in any of your own broken pottery or china to use in your work and make them more personal.
