MOT Tester Qualification - Weston College

This New MOT qualification is for existing skilled mechanics with at least 4 years’ experience who either want, or need to become MOT Testers. On completion of this qualification you will be able to apply to undertake the DVSA final observed assessment, complete the Certificate of Competence (CoC) and then to become a Nominated Tester.
This course involves:
- working safely within a vehicle test centre
- communicating with colleagues and customers
- how to manage and maintain their CPD
- carrying out pre-test checks
- carrying out an MOT test
Please note you must have a current and full UK driving licence for the vehicle classes you want to test and have no unspent convictions for criminal offences connected with the MOT testing scheme or the motor trade, or involving acts of violence or intimidation.
This is a 5-day training course
You must have a Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle, four years’ experience in the motor trade, and hold a full UK driving licence for the vehicle classes you wish to test.
You must have no unspent criminal convictions for offences involving MOT testing, the motor trade or acts of violence or intimidation.
