Moth Trapping for Beginners

This course will be an introduction to the identification of moths. The course will show you how to identify live moths caught the night before. In addition, it will take you through how to choose the best moth trap, what field guides are available and useful websites for help. It will be mostly based outdoors.
The day will be structured into the following areas;
A brief introduction to moths and moth trapping
How to choose the best moth trap
Moth identification guides
How to identify live moths caught the night before
What to do with your findings
Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring a packed lunch with you. There is also an on-site café at Souter Lighthouse if preferred.
