Event description
Learn all about moths and their importance to the environment, starting with a light supper sourced from the Kitchen Garden.

About this Event

Join Dr Norman Lowe for National Moth watch at Ty Mawr Lime on Friday 27th September, 7pm-10pm and record the findings of the watch which will be submitted to the national moth records.

This is an ideal opportunity for those with no knowledge to learn about moths, their beauty and how important they are in playing a vital role in telling us about the health of our environment.

Norman runs the Moth group for the Brecknock Wildlife Trust and regularly shares his enormous fund of moth knowledge with fascinated audiences.

The evening will start with a light supper with food sourced from the Kitchen Garden, after supper Norman will talk about the life of moths and what might be attracted to the moth trap in the evening.

The evening will finish with observing the moths which have been attracted to the trap and logging them.

You will leave with a better understanding of moths, how to set up a moth trap and record your findings, plus have a lot of fun.

Suitable for children 8 years and over.

There are limited spaces, early booking is advised.

Please wear suitable clothing for outside.

This project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government
