About this Event

Emily Dodd - Nature, Wellbeing and Storytelling

Time: 11 - 11:45AM

What are the challenges of blending subjects like wellness and mindfulness with characters that appeal to children? Emily will show you how to overcome these problems and create stories that shine! With stories, songs, educational theory, and psychology – discover how Emily finds inspiration in nature and people.

Emily Dodd - Can’t Dance Cameron workshop

Time: 12 – 1PM

Cameron the capercaillie is the worst dancer in the Cairngorms, but maybe with the help of his new friend, Hazel the red squirrel, he’ll learn some great moves! Can’t-Dance-Cameron is a brilliant story about believing in yourself, full of actions, sounds and dancing.

Join author Emily Dodd for a journey through the Cairngorms. Discover more about the animals that live in the Scottish Highlands in this interactive story session. With science, football and dancing.

Emily has a Masters in Communicating Science and a HNC in counselling. She writes nonfiction science books, television and radio including writing shows about science and mindfulness for CBeebies. Emily has published nine nonfiction science books and four fiction books featuring Scottish wildlife, each one with a wellbeing theme.

Emily Dodd loves science and wildlife. She is the author of picture books and nonfiction science books, a screenwriter for CBeebies and a writer of BBC radio plays for children. You can see the latest updates from Emily on her blog: auntyemily.wordpress.com
