About this event
An evening of honest conversations, sharing and learning whilst connecting with other mothers.
Are you over 18?
Have you been in labour in the last five years?
Have you been induced?
Or have you experienced monitoring?
Are you Black, Mixed or an ethnic minority?
We want your views on “what good looks like” for monitoring babies during labour. We’re especially interested in learning about the best way of communicating with women and birth partners when there are any concerns about a baby’s wellbeing as labour progresses. This is part of a wider project bringing together maternity care staff, women and families to develop new support tools and systems aimed at reducing avoidable injury to babies.
This project is commissioned by the Department of Health and Social Care. The Avoiding Brain Injury in Childbirth (ABC) collaboration comprises a partnership between the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), THIS Institute and The Motherhood Group.
If you have experienced monitoring in labour in the last five-year period, please register to take part in the focus group.
You will be asked to read an information page about the study and provide consent to take part.
