Mother's Ruin, A Celebration of World Gin Day
Sat 10 June 2017, 13:00 – 20:30 BST
A gin fuelled Edwardian Garden Party on the Lawns of Preston Manor.
Proudly supported by Fentimans Ltd we are very excited to be hosting "Mother's Ruin"
There are lots of gin festivals around these days but most of them seem intent on over filling with so many gins that you couldn’t possibly taste all of them and if you did, you’d probably be very, very ill. So this is our solution hand picked gins and bars as well as a selection of foods and entertainment that we know will work together to compliment each other. Imagine a gin fuelled, Edwardian garden party celebration of all things good about gin and then you have “MOTHER’S RUIN, A celebration of World Gin Day”
On the 10th June 2017, bars and gin companies from all over the UK and the world together with great mobile food concessions will gather on the sprawling back lawns lawns of Preston Manor in Brighton and celebrate the wonder that is gin.
Based around The croquet lawn and in the walled “secret” garden, stalls will be set up around the property to give each vendor a great position.

Flash Mob Jazz are the all singing, all swinging heart of the party, getting everyone on the dance floor to Lindy hop, Jive and boogie the night away. With stunning three part harmonies, scorching horns lines and a rip roaring rhythm section, Flash Mob Jazz hark back to the Golden Age of Swing with music from the likes of Benny Goodman, Louis Prima and Louis Jordan to name but a few. Not to be held back, they have also turned their considerable talents to reworking songs from the modern era, transforming dance and pop hits from the 21st century into swing classics!
Now with a hugely successful Youtube channel, the release of their debut album "They've Only Gone n Done n' Done It!", headline performances at festivals including Love Supreme Jazz Festival and stages around the world, Flash Mob Jazz are ready and able to mix it up with the best of them!
Featuring the finest musicianship from some of the countries best young jazz musicians, Flash Mob Jazz are a sure fire hit with everyone from those pesky kids of today, to the good old fashioned old timers!
Born out of the late night, cider-fueled, sing-a-longs in the Nag's Head bar at Twinwood Vintage Music Festival in 2013 and 2014, Carradine's Cockney Sing-a-long was launched in the Mahogany Bar at Wilton's Music Hall in October 2014.
Tom Carradine, pianist with Champagne Charlie and the Bubbly Boys and regular accompanist on the London cabaret circuit, decided that he wanted to capture the flavour and atmosphere of a good old fashioned knees up (in the grand Cockney tradition) and recreate it for audiences young and old.
Since it’s launch in 2014, Carradine’s Cockney Sing-a-long has rapidly become a fixture on the UK’s thriving vintage scene and is now playing sell-out dates in the main auditorium at Wilton’s, monthly dates at Cahoots in London, Scallywag Cafe in Tunbridge Wells, Emporium in Brighton and for vintage events, corporate events and private parties across the country.
