The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has changed how MOT training is done with the 5-year MOT tester refresher course being replaced by annual training and an assessment. All MOT testers must now do MOT training and pass an assessment between 1 April and 31 March each year to keep your tester status this means all MOT testers must take the training and assessment by 31 March 2017.
With just over 6 months left before the final deadline East Riding College have put together this programme of training to enable MOT testers to comply with the new regulations.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be taken up with theory from 9.00am to 5.00pm with Thursday being testing day commencing with an on-line test at 9.00am and a practical demonstration on how to carry our an MOT at 10.30am. After lunch will be a practical assessment in the workshop and completion of the paperwork.
The cost of the course includes the course fee, registration and certification and VOSA publication.
- Need to have been employed in the industry for 4 years
- Have a British Motor Vehicle level 3 qualification (equivalent to A Level)
- Have no criminal record and/or no pending convictions related to the motor industry
