FAMILY FRIENDLY WALK

These days Marylebone is a rather refined, quiet neighbourhood, but it was once a hotbed of disreputable activities like bareknuckle boxing and animal-baiting. Similarly many former residents were unconventional types who dared to take risks and challenge the expectations of society to achieve their passion and goals in life. Prepare to be inspired!

Catherine has specifically designed this tour for teens and young adults to hear the stories of those who broke the mould as musicians, writers, architects, nurses, and social reformers. The idea is to inspire them with examples of people who chose career paths were unique or unusual for the time in which they lived. As many young adults will be on their summer break, this is a great activity that they can do either on their own, or together with friends or family members. The walk also prominently features females either partially or entirely at five of the eight stops.

This walk is led by City of Westminster Guide Catherine Gritz.
