Mouldmaking with Concrete - Homage
Thu 1 December 2016, 18:30 – 21:00 GMT
This class is for total beginners interested in becoming geometric concrete planter and candle holder enthusiasts. The process is fun, simple and therapeutic. We'll be using a selection of tools and processes to create a beautiful planter or candle holder to take home at the end of the class whilst understanding the mouldmaking process to continue in future.
You'll be guided through the class by 3D sculpture student, Charlotte Gilks. To begin the class you'll analyse and work out a geometric shape which takes your fancy. Worry not, you'll be given options to choose from. By connecting geometric shapes from paper you'll create the mould for the cement. Using a paintbrush you'll create a latex surface and make your own concrete mix! An explanation to do the process will be fully discussed with ways to decorate and create other froms. We will also be making this a festive evening, so expect mulled wine and a mince pie! This class will be held in Homage, a beautiful interiors and lifestyle shop in Seven Dials in Brighton. The shop will be open for the attendees of the class to do a spot of Christmas shopping from their gorgeous range.
Once everything is dry, you can take your beautiful creation home. But please be careful, the item will be delicate for another few days. You don't need to bring anything with you, but please wear clothes you don't mind getting mucky. We have all the materials you'll need including gloves incase of allergies.
Please book promptly because spaces are limited to 10! This class is for age 18+ For more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
