Mount Gay Rum & Chocolate Pairing Event
Join us for a unique evening at Grain & Glass, where we explore the rich history and exceptional flavors of Mount Gay rum, paired perfectly with the exquisite creations from Kneal's Chocolate. This exclusive tasting event will take you on a sensory journey through the legacy of the world's oldest rum distillery, established in 1703.
Event Highlights:
A Heritage in Every Drop: Discover the story behind Mount Gay rum, from its founding by Sir John Gay Alleyne to the legendary well that still operates after over 300 years. Learn how the distillery’s ongoing commitment to innovation, including their single-strand fields of sugarcane, shapes each bottle of rum.
The Line-Up: We’ll taste a curated selection of Mount Gay rums, including:
Eclipse – A perfect balance of oak and fruit.
Black Barrel – Rich, spiced, and smooth.
XO – A refined blend of aged rums.
Cognac Cask – A nod to the deep connection between rum and barrel-aging.
They Coffey Still Expression – Unique in its flavor profile.
Single Estate Series 2 – An expression of terroir and craftsmanship.
The Chocolate Pairings: Each rum will be paired with Kneal’s Chocolate, a master chocolatier known for using the finest ingredients to craft chocolates that complement the depth of flavors in the rum.
Led by Harry: Harry, our expert Brand Ambassador for Remy Cointreau, will guide us through the history of Mount Gay rum and the science of taste perception. With 25 years in hospitality and a special passion for rum, Harry will bring a deep understanding of the rum-making process and help you appreciate the complex layers of flavor in every sip and bite.

The event is strictly over 18's Only. If you're lucky enough to look under 25, please bring your relevant photo ID to the event with you. Tickets are sent in e-ticket format. These don't need to be printed but please have available on your phone on request. We do not cater to dietary requirements. Please arrive on time as we can't guarantee your place if you're late.
