Graham Brown Research Fellow Dr Simon Naylor presents a history of the Ben Nevis Observatory.

About this Event

Graham Brown Research Fellow Dr Simon Naylor will present a history of the Ben Nevis Observatory, which operated on Britain’s highest peak from 1883 until 1904. As well as housing a small permanent staff, the observatory attracted notable meteorologists, mountaineers and thousands of tourists. Hourly weather data was collected and experiments conducted, while others came in the hope of dramatic sunrises and sublime landscape views. Join us for what promises to be a fascinating discussion.
